Comfortable Care with Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Analgesia
We are pleased to be able to offer nitrous oxide and oxygen anesthesia in our offices for procedures that you may be undergoing. Below you will find some helpful information and frequently asked questions. Please also review the consent form at the bottom of the page prior to your appointment and make us aware of any possible contraindications to using nitrous oxide as soon as possible.
As a reminder:
- We recommend that you do not eat for 2 hour prior to using nitrous oxide
- We recommend that you abstain from any recreational drug use for 1 week prior to a scheduled procedure where you might use nitrous oxide. Use of recreational drugs may diminish or block the beneficial effects of the nitrous oxide.
- Payment of $75 will be collected prior to your procedure

Nitrous oxide has been used for over 100 years1 and has a long-standing safety record. When the Nitronox Plus® device is used, you are awake (conscious), responsive, and breathing normally on your own.
What are the typical side effects that one might feel?
Side effects are usually minimal. With a self administered protocol, you are in total control minimizing side effects. Side effects that can occur in some patients are dizziness and nausea. If you do not like how you are feeling, stop inhaling the N2O/O2 mixture and breathe room air. This should quickly reverse any negative effects.
